Honors Study Abroad Info & Programs

The programs listed below are for students to participate on a very independent level while overseas. Students should be more comfortable seeking out information directly from the host institution at which they would be studying, throughout the semester prior to departure and especially while studying abroad. While the overall experience may be trying at times, direct partner programs are meant to provide students with a deeper cultural connection to their host location due to a more autonomous type of study abroad program than studying through a third-party program provider. As a result, honors students' leadership skills will be enhanced through their participation, as they are taking more of the lead on their study abroad experience.

Due to the payment structure of direct partner programs, students pay the host institution for housing costs directly, which could result in some savings that could then be used towards other travels throughout their semester. More information regarding the direct partner programs' semester costs and fees can be read on the semester costs and fees section of our site.

The first step in studying abroad is to attend an info session (calendar of dates/times/locations of sessions can be found on our site).

In order to earn Honors course credit, students will:

  1. Submit their overseas transcript from their semester abroad to the Bryant Study Abroad Office for validation and grade conversion from their host institution at the conclusion of their study abroad program.
  2. Upload onto the Honors Program Canvas site their study abroad portfolio describing their experience, community engagement, and scholarship activities beyond the classroom during their time abroad.

Upon completion of both items above, a review will take place by the Honors Program Director to determine if Honors credit will be issued or not.

All the following direct partner programs' applications are due either before or on the same day as Bryant's deadlines of October 15th (spring) or March 15 (fall)!
