Enrollment Agreement between Bryant University and the Town of Smithfield

Enrollment Agreement

  1. Bryant University will make available four(4) credit bearing course enrollments each semester to employees of the Town of Smithfield subject to the following terms:
    1. An employee of the Town of Smithfield refers to Town employees only.
    2. Course enrollments will be arranged through tuition waivers. The process used will be based on the admission and registration procedures used for Bryant University employees and their dependents.
    3. Participants must meet all established admission criteria and pre-requisites.
    4. The Human Resource Administrator, Town of Smithfield, will determine eligibility for tuition waivers. These tuition waivers are not suitable for the professional development of teachers in the Smithfield School system. There is no limit on the number of employees who may participate in the program except that just four (4) course remissions are to be granted each semester.
    5. The course enrollment tuition waivers may be used in either undergraduate or graduate level courses.
    6. The Bryant University contact for processing undergraduate registration and tuition waivers is the Registrar. For graduate courses, the contact is the Assistant Dean of the Graduate School.
  1. Bryant University’s Executive Development Center (EDC) will make available to the Town of Smithfield employees four (4) seats in the executive education offerings each semester at a 25% discount of the published fee.
    1. Enrollments will be governed under the same discount terms currently offered to Bryant University employees who enroll in EDC courses. Employees of the Town of Smithfield will need to meet the same eligibility requirements for enrollment as all other EDC students.
    2. The Human Resource Administrator, Town of Smithfield, will determine employee eligibility for discounts for the Town of Smithfield in the EDC program.
    3. The Bryant University contact for EDC registration and enrollment at a discounted fee is the Director of the Executive Development Center.
  1. The Town Manager has determined that if a town employee earns less than a “C+” grade in the Bryant University course, the employee will pay the Town of Smithfield the cost of the course. In turn, the Town of Smithfield will in turn reimburse Bryant University.
  2. The terms of this agreement may be subject to revision based on experience. The terms have been developed in a spirit of cooperation and in the hope that this arrangement will benefit both Bryant University and the Town of Smithfield.
